HLDJ help me

Hi.I have windows XP and when i play music on hldj it sounds like robotic screamo music.i put it at 16 bit,8KHz and 1 mono.i tried trying different stuff like 8 bit 8khz and 1 mono but it sounds the same.how do you fix the music from sounding like retarted robots?I used gold wave and dbpoweramp music converter and it sounded the same.Thanks
