I use the term "cheats" lightly. Basically, the same codes and problems discussed in this post: http://hldj.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f= ... 3127#p3127 (the first post of two in this thread by the person who created that topic thread) still persist. The original poster posted a screen image (different game - his was CS, mine is L4D2) seen here: My image of the console messages is the same, the same "cheats" that somehow get tied into/get into/get created into hldj, appear in the console, and are disallowed - things that speed up a character, make changes in lighting and fog effects, etc. - none of which I have ever wanted or downloaded - but rather, they are created within hldj in some fashion.
I haven't solved this problem either and hope someone can help.
I did delete all the hldj_ cfg files (as mentioned in another post), but I noticed that when I start Steam, the files are recreated (with the old creation dates - seems strange to me), so it would seem that something is happening in regards to HLDJ and Steam on my computer (or the Steam servers and my computer??). The recreated hldj cfg files are shown in the attached image: . I also tried the suggestions given in the original post, and reply to my comment there, all to no avail.
My thanks to all who take the time to read this and consider whether they might be able to help.

HLDJ does not touch any of the cvars listed, so that's either normal behaviour or they are being set by some other script(s) you have running.
To ensure Steam doesn't try to restore back-ups of the HLDJ scripts, turn off the Steam Cloud service, and/or search for "hldj" in your Steam folder and locate where the backups are stored and delete them.
