Some of the wavs refuse to play when I press v. The orange speaker pops up and stays up, but I dont hear anything and the blue box with my name doesn't appear.
This only happens with some of the songs, mostly ones that I have recently acquired.
As far as I can tell, the ones that work are the same as the ones that don't. Which brings meto something else, when I make changes to a wav, like change the sample format and volume, the effects are there, but when I open up the file again, all the settings have been reset to default. (ex: saying that a wav has a sample format of 32-bit float when it works with Source perfectly).
EDIT: It seems that hldj does not want to load particular files, instead of the file selected it plays the previous one. I still get the console message that the song has been loaded.
Odd because the file that won't load was working perfectly a few seconds ago
EDIT: When hldj gets stuck on a certain wav, it seems that only certain other ones will be accepted over the current one, sort of like an "order" of sorts

Re: Some sounds refuse to play
1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you? Yes
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)? Yes
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?

Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_c.cfg
Loaded : sample_src
4) After creating your own local server and enabling playing of audio files:
4-a) Load one of the sample audio files and perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where? It shows up in steam>steamapps>[username]>counter strike source
4-b) If it exists, open it in an audio player: does it sound like the audio file you loaded? In the circumstances above, no
4-c) If it exists, return to the game, and enter the following into console:
Code: Select all
voice_inputfromfile 1; voice_loopback 1; voice_forcemicrecord 0; voice_modenable 1; voice_enable 1; +voicerecordDoes the audio file start to play?
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game? Yes, I have a mic and all I had to do was plug it in, then my system recognized it and set it up

Re: Some sounds refuse to play
In regards to your Audio editor, if it's Audacity, that behavior is normal, but to be 100% sure for testing purposes place the sample wavs in a separate directory and try loading those.
What does voice_input.wav sound like in the audio player? What's its filesize?
What is the output of "hldjca" after you load a new file, is it what you expected?
