Howdy. I have been research this issue this morning to no avail. What I've located on the forum so far hasn't resolved it.
Essentially, I have the latest version of hldj (64-bit) loaded. The audio files all work and have been tested in numerous games (Zombie Panic: Source, Counterstrike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, etc.). However, trying to play back audio in Team Fortress 2 does not work. I see the icon indicating the audio is being played, but nothing is heard. I've tried a number of different servers, but get the same result. I've also reinstalled hldj, but still no luck.
Any ideas on what to try? Thank you.

Yes, try your own server, after first reading the forum rules.
Re: No audio in Team Fortress 2
Thanks for the reply.
It was tested on a server of my own (client-side) with the same results. I also tested it on a server I admin (hosted on GS) and know for certain has audio enabled, with the same results.
1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?
Yes
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
Maybe. The output says:
Unknown command "hldjsf"
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_a.cfg
HLDJ successfully loaded!
Quick-Start Guide:
1 ) enter 'la' to display the audio list.
2 ) enter the number of the file to load.
3 ) press the PGDN key to start/stop audio.
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?
hldj_next
Loaded: blaze2
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_b.c
4) After creating your own local server and enabling playing of audio files:
4-a) Load one of the sample audio files and perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
No, it does not show up after searching via Windows.
4-b) If it exists, open it in an audio player: does it sound like the audio file you loaded?
N/A
4-c) If it exists, return to the game, and enter the following into console:
N/A
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game? *
Yes, voice works. I tested it via mic recently.
Thanks for any help.

Re: No audio in Team Fortress 2
Load one of the sample audio files, then post a screenshot of the contents of the following folders:
a) the game directory
b) the "cfg" folder within the game directory
c) the folder one level up from the game directory.
You might also try disabling Steam Cloud for the game.

Re: No audio in Team Fortress 2
Same problem here ..
I'm running on a 64bit win7 and when I use the button I put ( F1 )
The voice icon appear .. but I can't hear anything .. just myself when I talk
Yesterday it worked for just 2 out of 4 songs I put
but I closed the game and reopen it later and it didn't anymore
One last thing .. when I talk while the F1 icon is on I can hear myself
but when I do it with V I can't
does that mean there's some option I can chose the sound from or something like that ?
Sorry for my bad English.

Re: No audio in Team Fortress 2
I'm having the same problem m3g is having, only half of my songs are loading in TF2. When I first started using it I had 3 songs, songs 1 and 2 worked but song 3 didn't. I added more songs, up to 13, songs 1 through 8 worked but 9 through 13 didn't. I would really like to understand why this is happening.

Re: No audio in Team Fortress 2
I am having the same problem. I am running 32bit Vista like Malarky. HLDJ was working fine a week or two ago, then I started it up two days ago and now the only sound that plays is whats picked up on the mic. I am starting to think it might be a problem with Source. Does anyone know if it was updated?
