Some files crash L4D2

Post by DiscoToast »

Hey I just got set up with HLDJ in the past day or so. I really dig the program but I notice that the sound files I have created crash the system. I ripped a few from YouTube, along with some other mp3s i had. I used Adobe Sound Booth to convert them to Mono 11025, 16-bit .wav files. I have downloaded other sound packs for HLDJ and they seem to work fine except for the ones i created... What am I doing wrong? I thought maybe the issue was with Soundbooth so I ran these files through the included converter and instead of crashing the game/computer, they simply do not play (although the mic channel will open) when i press the key. Probably a simple setting I'm missing... Please help! Thanks :D

If you ran it through the converter it should be fine, otherwise check that any id3 tag data has been removed.

Tried again, Adobe SoundBooth seems to be the issue. I had to encode my wav files back to Mp3, then back to wav using HLDJs encoder. Yeesh! Would have been nice if the HLSS encoder had the ability to reincode wav files to save the extra step but no biggie...at least it works now! thanks!
