"exec hldj_quickselect.cfg: file size larger than 1 MB!"

Post by ytr968 »

Hey everyone,

I seem to be getting this error message when I try to use HLDJ. I used HLDJ once before (the same day when I first used the program), and I start to get this error message.

When I had one song in my song directory, I didn't have a problem. Now that I added about 4 more songs, I have this message come up:
Unknown command "hldjsf"
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_a.cfg
exec hldj_quickselect.cfg: file size larger than 1 MB!

HLDJ successfully loaded!
Quick-Start Guide:
1 ) enter 'la' to display the audio list.
2 ) enter the number of the file to load.
3 ) press the F1 key to start/stop audio.

Basic Commands:
hldjn, hldjp, hldjr - loads the next/previous/random audio file.
hldjca, hldjcd - displays the current audio file/directory in console.
hldjsca, hldjstca - displays the current audio file in public/team chat.
hldjsq, hldjqa - stops HLDJ and quits the current game/quits both.

[enter 'hldj1' for more commands/help]
[enter 'hldj' to display this guide again]
I am running on the latest version (1.6_02 64 bit).

Can anyone help me with this?

Regards,

Please note that I use Audacity to covert the file, and these are the sound file properties:

11025 Hz
Single channel (mono)
24 bit PCM
And it's saved as "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM"

this usually happens when the file is empty or has invalid characters. The file could be empty if your audio directory is set incorrectly, or does not contain any ".wav" files. There is a chance the game could have problems reading the file if your filenames contain odd characters. check the contents of your hldj_quickselect.cfg

Hmm, seems like the file 'hldj_quickselect.cfg' isn't even there. I did a whole system scan for it, and I can't find it.

Edit: Note that they are all in .wav format, audio directory is set properly, and I changed all the names so that it only contains alphabets (no '-' and '[ ]'). Still the same problem.

Hi again,

I managed to fix it. I just completely deleted all of the HLDJ files (and kept the music) and re-downloaded them. Now it works. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

And an error once again. I can load the music, but then all the music squeaks really high. It doesn't even sound like music.
