Mic Echoing Back

Post by ytr968 »

Hey,

It seems to turn on my mic. When I select a song, and then press F1, the voice turns on. There is this constant squeaking that happens, and when I talk, my voice echoes back. The music does not play.

Windows 64 bit.

All music file properties:
24 bit PCM
11025 Hz
And it's saved as "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM"

I have tried to edit the audio file via the HLDJ converter, as well as Audacity. It still does not work.

-----------------------------------------------------------

1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?
Yes, it does.

2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
Yes, it does.

3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_b.cfg
Loaded : Lost Woods Dubstep Remix - Ephixa
4) After creating your own local server and enabling playing of audio files:
4-a) Load one of the sample audio files and perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
I was unable to download the sample music files, and this not able to complete this.

4-b) If it exists, open it in an audio player: does it sound like the audio file you loaded?
N/A

4-c) If it exists, return to the game, and enter the following into console:
CODE: SELECT ALL
voice_inputfromfile 1; voice_loopback 1; voice_forcemicrecord 0; voice_modenable 1; voice_enable 1; +voicerecord
Does the audio file start to play?
N/A

5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game? *
Yes, voice works fine normally.

Note that when I play local, it happens as well. But when I type in "sv_use_steam_voice 0" it works. But on servers it doesn't work. Even if I type in "sv_use_steam_voice 0", it says that I need to be a server operator to do so.
