Music not listing

Post by Tuffie »

Alright so I got HLDJ set it up, converted a song to the proper format, and with no problems at all I was able to open CSS and play the song through a server.

Now I have converted more music it doesn't seem to want to list when I type the "la" command, so I tried to use your file "Sample_SRC" with no avail yeah so I am a little stuck at this point :P

An help available would be great, and much appreciated,

Tuffie.

What does it list, if anything? And moreover, which directory does it report it is currently in? (copy-paste resulting output from console)

execing hldj_curaudio.cfg
Current: A-Dark Oscillators - Superstar DJ (Original Mix) Next: (none)
execing hldj_listaudio.cfg

By the way file 3 is that first file I was talking about

What's odd there is that your Audio directory is set to the HLDJ root directory and, unless you've set Display mode as otherwise, you should at least be able to see the "Manual" (or other) folder(s) in there. Double-check your Audio Directory setting, or if that's intentional, copy-paste the address from the console dump to a window and see what files are listed in there.
Also, what OS are you running?

It isn't in my HLDJ root directory, it's in a folder I made for converted songs for HLDJ..

I am running XP

Open HLDJ setup, take and post a screenshot of your setup window (advanced tab expanded).
Next, copy-paste:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Kenny\My Documents\HLDJ"
into the address bar of an explorer window. Take a screenshot of the folder contents that are opened and post it here.

Your advanced tab is not expanded (click the double orange down arrows), and I can't make out what games you have added (is it just CSS?). Also, your file extensions are hidden (Tools->Folder Options->View->Hide Extensions); I would assume they are ".wav", but they may have also gotten named ".wave" (if that's the case, I'll have to double check that HLDJ accepts .wave as well)
Those aside, you may want to check two other things: one, that HLDJ launches CSS for you without problem, and two, the results of setting Display Mode (in advanced tab) to show all files.

Ehh isn't .wav and .wave teh same thing? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV

HLDJ launches CSS fine, and I set the display mode to show all files and that didn't work either, it still only displayed Superstar DJ - Dark Oscillators.

Try these other diagnostics:
• With display mode set to all files, navigate through different folders in-game and see if HLDJ lists the files as expected.
• Open "hldj_listaudio.cfg" in a text editor from you CSS's "cfg" directory after running HLDJ; this will test whether or not the file was at least generated correctly.

p.s. .wav/.wave are just file extensions; .wav being the more common/canonical.
