Been using hldj for a good while now, but I just upgraded my PC and now when I load my stuff in game I don't hear the first second of anything play. The strange thing is, other people DO hear it.
For example: I have one short clip that is the girl from forrest gump who says "are you stupid or somethin?". Its a quick 2-3 second clip, and when I play it I don't hear anything except "tupid or somethin?" It completely cuts out the beginning of it. I believe others hear it because I've heard them say it back afterwards laughing about it, and they say the whole thing. For songs this is no big deal at all but for the fun short clips it completely ruins it.
My specs:
i5-2500k @ 4.5Ghz
p8z68-v/gen3
560ti-448 core @900/1800/2100
crucial m4 SSD
WD HDD
At first I thought it was my SSD serving up the files too quickly so I moved hldj over to my HDD (also for space saving) but that didn't change anything.
Any ideas?
Is my PC too fast for HLDJ? :(

Re: Is my PC too fast for HLDJ? :(
it could be due to creating links instead of copying the file. Generally creating links is much faster for average size files, but I've seen it hiccup once or twice while opening the link (though never consistently), Try running HLDJ under lower permissions (i.e. as the "guest" account) which should prevent it from using soft or hardlinks and force it to copy the file instead.
you might also want to check that your "voice_" vars are at defaults (other than the ones HLDJ sets: fadeouttime, voiceloopback, and recordfromfile):

Re: Is my PC too fast for HLDJ? :(
I didn't create any links, I moved the files. hldj and all my audio is on my HDD. I don't have a guest account and I don't really see how a different windows user account could have anything to do with a half second lag.
All my vars are fine, I didn't change any game settings. It worked fine until I upgraded my computer. The only thing different is my pc is very fast and the game is on a SSD.

The solution is turning on v-sync.
I recently upgraded to a HD6870 from a HD5770 and ran into the same problem as you. I guess it has something to do with very high framerates, because I was getting around 100 fps with my 5770 and am now getting 190+ with this new card.
