I use a Windows computer that has multiple TF2 accounts, with each person using their own profile to launch TF2. Steam currently does not allow automatic logins for different accounts on the same computer. So for the convenience of other users, I can't login automatically into TF2 (I now have to type in my username and password).
However, I created a shortcut to a batch file that launches TF2 and it includes my own username and password, so all I have to do is double-click the shortcut to launch the game without logging in.
Now the only way I know to use HLDJ and the batch file to automatically login is:
> double-click the shortcut/batch file to launch TF2 with my credentials
> wait for the Steam to login my account (about 10 seconds)
> wait for preparing to launch TF2 message to display
> then open HLDJ and press the play button (so as to not generate any error messages during the steam login process
As you can see, it's several steps involved with waiting in between. I used to just press the HLDJ play button and walk away until the TF2 main menu displayed. So is there a faster way to use HLDJ to use the shortcut/batchfile to launch TF2? Thanks.
using hldj to launch shortcut/batchfile

Re: using hldj to launch shortcut/batchfile
- uncheck "'Launch game application" in Options, start the game in HLDJ before running the script.
- OR modify the script so it logs into steam but doesn't launch anything, then start the game in HLDJ as usual.
the second method works for any game.

Re: using hldj to launch shortcut/batchfile
In Options, what's the difference between 'launch game application' and 'auto-start default game'? They sound similar.
Re: using hldj to launch shortcut/batchfile
launch = start game on hitting start in HLDJ
autostart = start game as soon as HLDJ opens
