Won't load AT ALL in L4D2, but works in L4D1 & DOD:S..Help??

1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?
Yep.

2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
Not in L4D2. It shows up for L4D1 and DOD:S, but not for L4D2.

That's as far as I have gotten with using HLDJ. But with DOD:S I've gone as far as using it on a server, so I know it's installed correctly. My directoriess are all correct, and I'm using the correct versions for my machine (64 bit win7). When I boot up L4D2 I don't get any messages prompted in the console and it won't pop up at all. Typing in "la" does nothing, and none of the listed commands in the manuals do anything.

Originally, looking at this topic I thought about searching my own hldj config files and found them in a cfg folder like the other user described to a numbered folder & deleted them. But unlike him, I do not have multiple accounts set up at this computer so I don't have the same problems about different accounts. All of my directories are in order. I already deleted disabled steam cloud

So if it works for other games, but not L4D2 where it won't load at all (even with a fresh install of HLDJ), what could be the problem? Should I be launching it from left4dead2_dlc1 (even though it doesn't boot the game up, but it does for the original left4dead2 directory)?

I attached a picture to show my directories are in order. Any ideas?

it doesn't seem to affect everyone, but based on the description of the problem, an l4d2 dlc "workaround" version was created, you might try that:

Yes sir, even with the workaround version it still won't load up. I already pointed it to the game audio directory and it still won't work. I actually poured over that topic and couldn't find any wrongdoing on my part

I think the person in the other thread tried a bunch of different game folders and eventually got it.
as in the other thread, you can figure out where everything is supposed to go:

1) find the game's config output directory:
execute the command "host_writecfg test.cfg", this will dump a test.cfg in the 'cfg' subdirectory of one of your game directories

2) find the game's config input directory:
create an autoexec.cfg, place the commands "toggleconsole; echo test" in it. place the atuoexec.cfg in the 'cfg' subdirectory of one of your game directories. keep trying different game directories until you see "test" in the console after launching the game.

3) find the game's audio directory:

for any other game, the directories for 1 and 2 will be the same, and 3 will be one level up from the game directory. the workaround version is designed to use left4dead2_dlc1\cfg as the config in folder and left4dead2/cfg as the config out folder.
