I've been using HLDJ for a looong time now, and I've had no real problems with it. But I recently got a new computer, an Asus laptop with Windows 7 ( Premium 64-bit) and I've tried installing both 32-bit and 64-bit latest versions of HLDJ, both are having the same problem. The sound is extremely distorted and slow, both my songs and the samples downloaded from the site. I know it is not a problem with my game directories because I've used HLDJ before ( Ex: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\************\team fortress 2). My voice input does appear in the tf2 directory when I load a song, but when I play the song in game, it sounds extremely distorted. But if I play the song through the directory ( via windows media player or other) the song sounds normal. Also, I have made sure multiple times that all songs/sounds I use are in the HLDJ format for source games, so thats not the problem. When I try to plug in a microphone to my laptop ( because others have claimed this solves the problem) HLDJ just uses the sounds coming from the mic, like my voice, instead of the sound file. And when I start up the game, it DOES say in the console that HLDJ was loaded successfully and so do the songs. Also whenever I try to play a song, my voice from my microphone is played and not the song from the file.
Yes my mic normally works for me and I have tried the "voice_inputfromfile 1; voice_loopback 1; voice_forcemicrecord 0; voice_modenable 1; voice_enable 1; +voicerecord" method and that doesn't work.
Anyone have any solutions???? This is driving me crazy. I don't know if this makes a difference, but my new computer is an Asus LAPTOP, unlike my last computer. With my last computer, I had to use Regedit to edit binaries and such to make HLDJ function properly. I found the way to do this through these forums somewhere, but I just do not remember where. If anyone has a solution to this problem it would be deeply appreciated.
