not working? *please read* for cs 1.6

ok so i downloaded it, did everything u need to do, converted the audio, put it in the file audio, did all those stuff .. everything . then when i get into game using the button on hldj, the console pops up. i type la, then it had some songs that i put in the audio. i typed the number.. and it said loaded successfully. but when i get into game, and i click the hotkey, it wont play .. i cant hear it, nor can the people in the server hear it. whats going on ? please help.
(btw im running in win7, so im not sure if thats the problem)
