HLDJ Doesn't play sound, just says "Trial"

Whenever I load a sound in game (I open console, type la press the corresponding number with the song i want played hit enter and in game i hit the button i mapped to play the sound (F3) and it plays sound, but not the sound that i selected. All it says is in a computer voice "Trial" every 3 seconds. I tried it with 3 other songs, same outcome. I use audicity to convert it and all and i even tested the sounds after i finished converting them and they play right then, it's just when i get in-game i experience this. I'm using 64-bit and i've tried both the 64-bit version and 32-bit version, both have the same issue. I'm running version 1.6.02. Any help?

It's not HLDJ, though if I were to venture a guess I'd say it sounds a lot like something I've heard from users of a common piece of software used to reroute audio input/output, going by the name of "VAC". So maybe check if you have that installed.

You got the trial stuff down because surprisingly enough that was the issue exactly XD. But now the music doesn't play except makes sort of a low-pitch humming noise. I'm not sure if it's the song or not but once again, The song plays just fine outside of hldj.
