HLDJ not working without built-in mic?

So, i purchased a new motherboard, and now my system shows mic in devices as "unplugged" and i can't configure mic settings without plugging the external mic. On my old motherboard all was fine, i was able to configure mic and hldj was working. Now only the talk icon in game appears, but no sound plays. There's no way to get hldj to work?

In Sound->Recording options right clicking usually gives you the ability to show and enable hidden devices, such as an inactive microphone interface. Otherwise some users have reported success with simply plugging any connector or metallic object into the jack.

Yeah, i just plugged my headphones into the mic jack and it worked.
