tf2 crashes right after starting

im unable to use hldj with tf2. it works in css but not in tf2 and i have no idea why.
it doesnt matter if i use hldj to start tf2 or in steam directly after i clicked on the start button in hldj.
the game loads, the valve video is shown, the bg of the main menu appears and then, at the time when the main menu should appear the game crashes:

ok i have the same issue with l4d, though i dont get any error message

me thinks now it has something to do with the latest source engine, also games could crash if your are running lots of unnecessary background programs. bring up the task manager and end task the programs the are not needed.

How many songs do you have in a single folder in your Audio Directory? If there are over 500 in any one directory, depending on the game, it can use a bit too much memory and cause it to crash. If this is the case, you'll want to split the songs up into multiple folders.

exactly 0 soundfiles in the audio folder itself. the 67 soundfiles are stored and sorted in 3 subfolders.

also it does work with css, so this shouldnt be a problem...

hldj doesnt like those characters - at least in tf2 and l4d. it works in css nearly perfectly...

accessing the folder and playing a sound works though...

From your description, it would appear that the bug is in TF2; it seems to be treating all the characters after the umlaught as part of a new command (which it shouldn't). You might want to bring it to their attention or in the meantime, just rename the folder to use standard ASCII characters.

do you know why icant setup HLDJ ..
cos i add the game directory ( cstrike )
theni add audio directory ( HLDJ\AUDIO )
but after .. if i press tick ..
it says it setting up or finding the game ... but after like 2 secs .. it says .. HLDJ is not responding . and it makesme have to close the program ..
im on vista too .. but idunno whats wrong with this ! =='

I'm not sure, I can't really diagnose 1.4.5 issues anymore. I recommend you use the 1.5.0 beta
