Songs Not Playing

I just downloaded HLDJ and Audacity, but when I try to start playing a song, any song, it just makes a static-like sound and nothing else happens. I got the songs from Limewire and I followed the HLDJ guide exactly, but the songs still don't work.

Hey i got the same problem.
I convert in to .wav file, and changed all the setting as it says in the guide, and its not playing...
(Also the music is very very slow after i make all the setting and in my friends its not that slow)

When changing the rate do it from the Project Rate box at the lower part of the screen, and nowhere else (i.e. not in the audio track).
