This is my first time using HLDJ but as you guessed from the title, I am having a problem. When I choose to play a song, I click on the number relating to the song via the console. It states in the console that it's loading the song but when I click on the appropriate button to play the song (F6). My speaker pops up but nothing plays, although I can speak through it.
I currently want this to work on the Thrid-Party Mod - Zombie Master but I have also tried HLDJ with TF2 CSS etc. with no luck. I have tried everything to find a solution, i've reinstalled HLDJ. I've placed the folder on a new location, I've downloaded the latest version etc with no luck.
At first I thought that it was me formating the song incorrectly but a friend sent me songs he plays on HLDJ, but I still had no luck. I have seen on the new and old forums posts about this sort of problem but I couldn't find a solution.
When I first load Zombie Master 1.2.0 this comes up in console:

Re: Loads Song, but no Sound Comes Out
Be sure to read setting up a 3rd-party Source-mod, there's a further step to setting them up (which will be made easier next version).
Aside from that, everything appears to be normal. Are you able to use your mic regularly? Ensure that voice is correctly setup for your game; also try multiple servers.
To run a quick diagnostic, check that the file "voice_input.wav" is being created in the correct location after you've selected a file. For Source games, this will be one level up from the game directory (i.e. for CSS, you should see it in "steamapps\username\counter-strike source"), for Source mods, it's based on the parent directory of the game its modding from (check the manual description of Game Audio Directory for more information). If the file exists, then the problem most likely lies in the voice/mic setup for the game.

Re: Loads Song, but no Sound Comes Out
I read the post you made about Setting up 3rd-party Source Mods and done the instructions, however I lost you on the 4th instruction.
Do I browser for parent direction of the game in Use Custom ico? And I don't think I know the parent direction of the game.
Also, I am using a mic and it works. I can use it to talk through all steam games I have although I don't use it much.
This is what happens when I type Voice_input.wav in Console:

Re: Loads Song, but no Sound Comes Out
The last bit refers to your actual file system (i.e. in Windows). Briefly, how HLDJ works is by supplying the game with a file called "voice_input.wav" (your music file) in the location the game expects it to be (the directories I mentioned above - you'll want to test this with CSS, as its directory is easier to find). If, after loading a song, you alt+tab back to WIndows, and open up a window to the proper directory I mention above, you should be able to see it. If it's there, then that's an indication that HLDJ is working fine (and some configuration in the game is problematic), if not, we'll have to address why.
Re: Loads Song, but no Sound Comes Out
When I did what you said I saw a file at the bottem called wav_sound .
Re: Loads Song, but no Sound Comes Out
That's not the file (or any file I know of). Make sure you're looking in the correct place; here's a step-by-step for Counter-Strike Source:
1) start HLDJ & CSS
2) load a song
3) switch back to your desktop (either alt+tab or quit out of the game)
4) open a window and navigate to the folder:
...\steamapps\username\counter-strike source
5) In this folder, is there a file named voice_input.wav?
If not, is HLDJ still in the started state?
Also, you can try manually creating it yourself by copy-pasting one of your audio files to this folder and renaming it voice_input.wav.

Re: Loads Song, but no Sound Comes Out
Thas wierd when I turned on my PC again it changed from wav_sound.wav to voice_input.wav . Anyways CSS is now working fine now but its just that Zombie Master is still having problems. I think the problem is that the voice_input.wav is in the wrong place even though I put the directory for the game C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\zombie_master its in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\ .
Re: Loads Song, but no Sound Comes Out
Hmm, I see now that you were referring to the "4th" instruction in the sticky about 3rd-party mods.
Third-party mods load or modify their core content from another game (hence "mod"), and so it's in this other game's parent folder where the voice_input.wav is expected to be located. For example, for a mod that pulls its content from "...\steamapps\username\half-life 2\hl2", it's game audio directory would be the parent directory (one level up): "...\steamapps\username\half-life 2" and you would enter this into the "Use alternate Game Audio DIrectory" field in Setup's advanced section.
However, if you're not sure where ZM pulls its content from, there's a link directly in the sticky (listed under "for more information on step 4 ...") which includes step-by-step instructions on how to find the appropriate game audio directory.
To make things even easier, the correct game audio directory for ZM is listed directly in the manual page linked to by the sticky.
And to top it all off, both HLDJ 1.4.8 and the new HLDJ 1.5.0 beta will take care of all the above steps for you, automagically.
