Key Binds are permanent

Post by mizuno »

Hello,

I was always amused by people playing clips while playing TF2 that I wanted to give it a try. It worked great but when I realized that I had to switch the key for playing music, I realized that the key stayed bound to music while the new key also assumed the new role. As of now, I have 3 different keys that will play audio. Is there a way to do a clean uninstall ( I have found this impossible) or remedy this situation. Thank you.

If you created the binds in console, try either 'unbind <key>' or 'bind <key> ""' (or bind it to some other command)
If those don't stick, go to tf2's "cfg" folder, and open config.cfg in a text editor (i.e. notepad), then just edit out the lines pertaining to the binds you don't want.

For HLDJ-specific binds or commands, you can also try placing them in HLDJ's custom\hldj_custom.cfg, so that they're only loaded when HLDJ is.
Before it used to be that any binds created temporarily during the game would not overwrite whatever was in your config.cfg. I'm not sure if this is true anymore.
