HLDJ Doesnt Show Up

I have the same problem, but it never worked for me in the first place. All of the .cfg files are created on startup. When I entered exec autoexec.cfg manually into the console, nothing happens. When I entered exec hldj_init.cfg, it sais "exec: could not exec hldj_init.cfg". I am using vista and I have a mic pluged in.

EDIT: exact same problem on CSS as well, so it must be HLDJ.

I've heard of this once or twice before... once the config files are placed into the "cfg" directory of the game, it is up to the game to execute and parse them. If it fails the first step, it is likely something odd with your install. To verify this, don't run HLDJ at all, instead create your own autoexec.cfg file (using notepad or similar), place it in the "cfg" directory and try "exec"-ing it. If it's the same issue as I remember, then this should fail as well. I also seem to remember a "valve.rc" file missing from "cfg" in these cases. Either way, you may want to try a full re-install of the game.

But wont that erase all of the acheivements, unlockables, etc?

no (but it's always good to make a back-up anyways, for settings and such).

Ive had this same problem but it only doesnt work with css, hldj works fine with every other game.

Most of all the files in my cstrike\cfg that relate to hldj are corrupt and unreadable including the autoexec.cfg and hldj_init.cfg. And for some reason it makes it so i cannot delete them or override them with new information. Ive tried reinstalling it and deleting the files countless times and nothing works.

I hope somebody can help me because i love using hldj in css =P

Have you tried re-booting, then deleting? If you still cannot delete the files, you may want to perform a filesystem scan (run "chckdsk") for errors.
You can also try killing explorer, then opening a command prompt and delete the files using the "del" command.
